After the ceremony, Anita and Nick looked forward to celebrating their commitment to each other with their family and friends. As they entered the banquet room in elegant gold and energizing coral colors, everyone was wowed. Their Indian-Colombian cultures blended seamlessly. The mix of cultural elements, from the food to the music, which made their wedding very special and unique.
The night was filled with traditional dances and beautiful music. But Anita didn’t know that Nick had something special planned just for her.
It first started with a song. Nick, being a musician, performed one of his original songs for Anita. She was moved and felt close to tears. Then one of her favorite Bollywood songs started to play, and to her surprise, Nick stepped out on the dance floor and danced to it. Anita was overcome with emotion!
Dance is such an integral part of their cultures, so they made sure to make music and dance a pivotal aspect of their wedding reception. The night followed with multiple dance performances, and everyone had a wonderful time!
Finding the Perfect Reception Hall
For the reception, it’s kind of funny, but we had no particular connection to the reception hall. We had run out of options and had come across a myriad of obstacles in matching the available dates from venues to the available dates for the church.
We thought we’d stop by a nearby church after lunch to pray for a bit. It happened to be that the church’s reception hall, Higgins Hall, was having an event that day. We looked around the venue both inside and out and thought it fit perfectly. The available dates happened to match our time frame. It was a God-send!

What to Look For When Choosing a Wedding Photographer
[When] we saw Marilyn [we] were immediately drawn to her photographs. As we looked through her portfolio, we realized that the sample wedding pictures she had…were from a wedding held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where we were planning to have our own wedding.
Seeing the photographs inside the church allowed us to see what our own photographs might look like, and we absolutely loved them!
