Daniel and Amy met during their freshmen year of college through a mutual friend. They hit it off, having a lot in common, including their culture. In order to learn more about their heritage, they decided to go on a 10-day birthright trip to Israel.
“During the days on the trip, we would travel from city to city sightseeing and learning more about our culture,” future-bride Amy reminisces. “We would be on our own for lunch for an hour, and continue on. It was on one of the latter days of our trip to a city in Israel, called Jaffa. On our lunch break there, Dan asked me to go with him to see the beach and sit by the water.”
“When we got there, there was a winding staircase that took you to the beach, overlooking the water. He stopped on the stairs and that’s when he got down on one knee and proposed. I remember being in complete shock and not being able to stop smiling that whole day! It was perfect!!!”
How To Add the Beach to a non-Beach Wedding
Lovers of the beach and sand, the happy couple moved to the Tampa Bay area after graduating college. We “absolutely love all the outdoor options there are in the Bay Area, however, our wedding will be indoors…Because of this, it is was important to find a way to incorporate the outdoor aspect of the Bay Area into our photoshoot,” Amy shares.
They are in the final stages of planning their wedding. “I tried to get everything done early on to make it not so stressful. The only thing left is to pick a caterer; we are deciding between two right now,” Amy relates.
Their wedding will be held early next year at the Mirror Lake Lyceum in downtown Saint Petersburg. Amy just can’t wait; she relates, “I am looking forward to reuniting with friends and family, and of course actually marrying the love of my life!”
They Loved Their Beachfront Engagement Photoshoot
Daniel and I are very laid back people who find comfort in the simple things such as going for a bike ride or spending the day walking on the beach. The shoot was laid back and casual which is a true reflection of our personalities.
